The best way to reach us is by email. If you’ve spotted a figure that looks wrong, the data error form gets it to us with the details we need to check it.
Questions and feedback
For questions about the site, suggestions, privacy requests and licensing, email us and tell us which page or topic it’s about.
Data errors
A figure that looks wrong
The form asks for the page and the figure, which is what we need to trace a number back to its source. Your name and email address are optional.
What to expect
What we can and can’t help with
We’re happy to explain where a number came from or how a page works, and we’d like to hear about anything that looks wrong. Personal investment questions are a different matter, since we aren’t able to give advice, and there are no accounts on the site that we could look into for you.
- Data and methods - where a figure comes from, how often it refreshes and how we calculate things like mNAV. Our about page answers much of this already.
- Privacy requests - asking what we hold about you, or asking us to correct or delete it, as set out in our privacy policy.
- Licensing and copyright - reusing our tables or content beyond what the copyright notice allows. Please put "Copyright Inquiry" and your topic in the subject line.
- Not investment advice - we can’t tell you what to buy or sell, and problems with an exchange or broker account need to go to that firm.
Questions
Contact questions
Can you tell me whether to buy Bitcoin, a Bitcoin ETF or a Bitcoin stock?
That’s one question we’d turn down, however it’s put. Nobody at BitcoinBagger is authorised to give investment advice, and even if we were, we’d know nothing about your tax position, how long you’re planning to hold or what you could afford to lose, which is most of what a sensible answer depends on. What we’re glad to do is point you to the guides we’ve written on how the products work, so that if you do sit down with a qualified adviser you’ve got a clearer idea of what to ask them.
Where should I report a figure that looks wrong?
The data error form is the quickest route, because it asks for the page and the figure up front and that’s what we need to trace a number back to its source. Email works too if you’d rather, and it helps if you include the page, the figure as you saw it, the time printed next to it and, if you have one, a link to where the correct number is published. Many of our figures change every few minutes, so the time stamp matters more than it might seem.
How do I ask about my personal data?
Email us and say what you’d like us to do, whether that’s telling you what we hold, correcting it or deleting it. Because the site has no accounts, the only personal details we’re likely to have are ones you sent us yourself through the data error form or by email, so it helps to mention roughly when you contacted us and from which address. Our privacy policy lists the rights you may have depending on where you live.
Can I reuse your data, charts or text?
If all you want to do is share a link, go ahead, and the copyright notice covers a few other things you can do without asking, such as quoting a little with credit for news, research or teaching. Republishing our tables, building our figures into a product or using our content commercially is where we’d need to hear from you first, ideally with "Copyright Inquiry" and your topic in the subject line and a line or two on what you’re planning. It’s also worth knowing that a lot of the underlying data belongs to the sources we name, so even where we’re happy for you to go ahead, their terms may still apply.
